The GILBERT Buubumur Gaawul Supporter Netball is a special First Nations supporter ball that celebrates culture, storytelling and connection to Country. Featuring original artwork by Sean Kinchela, a proud Gamilaroi and Wiradjuri man, this netball carries the story of Buubumur Gaawul (Platypus Lagoon) — a reflection of protection, balance and the natural environment.
The design shows a platypus swimming through the river, with camps on either side representing care and protection. Leaves flowing downstream and surrounding hills reflect the platypus’ natural habitat. Created to raise awareness of this endangered native animal, the Buubumur Gaawul Supporter Netball is both a meaningful keepsake and a symbol of respect, inclusion and community. Finished in Size 5, it is ideal for supporters, clubs and schools looking to celebrate Indigenous culture through sport.
